Privacy Policy
At a glance
For convenience; the numbered sections are the policy.
Your information is never sold. Not for money, not for anything else. Hi Power, your contractor, is responsible for your Program information. Deako runs the website and systems for Hi Power and keeps your data separate from its own customer records. The Program collects your contact details, job details, the photos or video you send for quoting, photos the crew takes to document the job, and recordings of calls with the sales team (you hear a disclosure first). Ads for the Program use anonymous browser identifiers, never your name, contact information, or job details, and Section 4 explains how to limit them. Hearing from Deako about its products is a separate choice. The box is never pre-checked, and saying no changes nothing about your service. Questions, requests, or appeals: privacy@deako.com.
The parties
- Hi Power — Hi Power Electric LLC, a licensed Colorado electrical contractor. Sells the Services and is responsible for Program customer information.
- Deako — Deako, Inc. Operates the Site and the Program's systems and processes Program information for Hi Power as its service provider and disclosed agent.
- Customer — You. The person who uses the Site, requests a quote, or purchases Services.
This Privacy Policy covers hipowerhomeservices.com (the "Site") and the residential electrical services program offered through it (together, the "Program"). It describes what the Program collects, how that information is used, who sees it, and the choices Customer has. It is part of the Program's Terms of Service, and capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given there.
1. Who collects Customer information
Program information is collected through the Site, forms, calls, and texts that Deako operates for Hi Power. Hi Power is responsible for Program customer information. Deako administers the systems that hold it, keeps it segregated from Deako's own customer records, and uses it only to operate the Program, except where Customer separately opts in under Section 7.
2. Age requirement
The Program is not directed at children, and Customer must be at least eighteen to purchase Services. The Program never knowingly collects information from children under thirteen. If such information is discovered, it is deleted. To report it, write to privacy@deako.com.
3. Information the Program collects
Information Customer provides:
- Contact and property information: name, email, phone number, and service address, through forms, the quote widget, calls, or texts
- Job information: the service requested, scoping answers, scheduling preferences, access notes, and transaction and fulfillment details
- Photos and video of areas of the home, submitted for quoting
- Recordings and transcripts of calls and texts with the sales and service team, where permitted by law and disclosed at the time
- Survey responses, reviews, and anything else Customer chooses to send
Collected during the job:
- Work-area photos taken by the crew before, during, and at completion, used to document the job, support permits and inspections, and back the warranty record
Payment card information goes to the third party payment processor on Hi Power's merchant account. It never passes through Hi Power's staff or Deako (Section 8).
Sensitive data. The Program does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as government identification numbers, health information, precise geolocation beyond the service address, or biometric data. Photos of work areas are used only for quoting and job documentation.
4. Information collected automatically, and advertising
As Customer uses the Site, automatic technologies may collect device and usage information: traffic data, IP address, device and browser type, referring pages, general location, and how Customer arrived at the Site (the ad or search that brought them). Analytics providers use this to help understand and improve the Program. Advertising and measurement providers use it to show Program ads on other sites and measure how those ads perform, including interest-based (remarketing) advertising built on identifiers such as ad-click IDs and cookie IDs. Providers can change as the Program evolves. The technologies are cookies (small text files; browsers can reject them and the Site still works) and pixels (tiny graphics that measure activity and deliver ads).
What ad providers get, and don't. They receive anonymous online identifiers to deliver and measure Program ads. They do not receive Customer's name, contact information, job details, or photos, and no Customer personal information is sold to anyone.
Limiting interest-based ads. Customer can limit interest-based advertising through browser cookie controls and the industry opt-out pages at aboutads.info (Digital Advertising Alliance) and optout.networkadvertising.org (Network Advertising Initiative), which cover the major advertising providers. Customer can also email privacy@deako.com to opt out of targeted advertising, and the Program will act on that request to the extent its advertising tools allow. The Site does not currently respond to Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track browser signals; the tools above are the way to limit ad tracking on the Site.
No profiling. The Program does not use personal data for profiling in decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. How Program information is used
- To provide quotes, schedule, and manage the Services, including Hi Power's review of job details to confirm pricing and perform the work
- To document completed work, including crew photos, for quality, permits, inspections, and warranty records
- To communicate with Customer about the request, booking, and job by phone, text, or email, per the consent language shown where the information was submitted
- To operate and administer the Program, fulfill orders, process payments through the processor, and provide support
- To advertise the Program and measure ad performance (Section 4)
- To monitor and improve the Program and train the team, including through call recordings
- To ask for feedback and reviews after a job
- To resolve disputes, detect and prevent errors, fraud, and illegal activity, assist law enforcement, and enforce this Policy and the Terms
- For any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection
Deako does not use Program information to market Deako products or anything else of its own unless Customer opts in under Section 7.
6. Who handles Customer information, and how
Hi Power's role. Hi Power's office staff and crews access job information through the Program tools to schedule, perform, permit, inspect, invoice, and warranty the work. Hi Power also keeps job records in its own business systems (dispatch, accounting, and permit files) under its own safeguards, for as long as Section 10 describes. Hi Power does not use Program information to market outside the Program.
Deako's role. Deako's team runs the Program's sales desk, scheduling, checkout administration, and support for Hi Power, and accesses Program information only for those purposes. Program information lives in Deako-administered systems under access controls, segregated per program partner and separate from Deako's own customer database. Deako retains aggregated, de-identified performance data (counts, rates, and trends that identify no Customer) to operate and improve its programs.
7. Learning about Deako products: Customer's choice
Deako makes the smart lighting products used in the Program. Customers who want to hear from Deako about its products and offers can say so wherever the Program asks. It is always a separate question with its own box or its own yes. The box is never pre-checked, the question is never folded into anything else, and saying no changes nothing about the service or the price. On a call, a spoken yes is noted in the Program record, and marketing texts start only after Customer confirms in writing or electronically.
When Customer opts in, the contact information Customer chose to share goes to Deako, which uses it for its own communications under Deako's general Privacy Policy at deako.com/privacy. Customer can stop at any time: the unsubscribe link in any Deako email, STOP to any Deako text, or a note to privacy@deako.com. Customers who do not opt in never hear from Deako's marketing, and their Program information stays with the Program.
8. Other disclosure of Program information
Hi Power and Deako do not sell Customer personal information, and do not share Customer contact or job information with any third party for that third party's own marketing.
Program information may be disclosed to service providers that help operate the Program: customer service, scheduling, analytics, advertising (anonymous identifiers only, per Section 4), and communications providers, each bound to use it only for the Program. It may also be disclosed where required by law or legal process; where reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, or safety; to regulators or law enforcement under court order, subpoena, or legal process; or to respond to a physical threat. If Hi Power or Deako undergoes a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, Program information within that party's control may be disclosed to prospective or actual purchasers in that transaction.
Card payments are handled by the third party payment processor, which collects and may retain payment information to process payments on Hi Power's merchant account. Neither Hi Power nor Deako controls the processor's practices. Its privacy policy is available at checkout.
9. Deako products and product registration
If Deako products are installed as part of a job and Customer chooses to register them, create a Deako account, or use the Deako app, the information Customer provides directly to Deako for that product relationship is governed by Deako's general Privacy Policy at deako.com/privacy, not this Policy. Registration is optional. It activates manufacturer warranty and product features.
10. How long information is kept
- Contact and job records: for the workmanship warranty period, and afterward as long as tax, permit, and legal obligations require
- Quoting photos and video, and crew work-area photos: for the workmanship warranty period, then deleted unless needed for a dispute
- Call recordings and transcripts: twelve months from the call, then deleted unless needed for a dispute or legal hold
- Website analytics and advertising identifiers: per the provider's own retention settings, which Customer can shorten with the controls in Section 4
- Contact information Customer opts to share with Deako under Section 7: per Deako's general Privacy Policy
Nothing here shortens any period that applicable law requires.
11. Security
The Program exercises care in transmitting information between Customer's device and the servers that operate the Program, and stores personal data in operating environments that are not open to the public. No transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed secure, and Customer transmits personal data at Customer's own risk.
12. Customer rights, requests, and appeals
Customer's rights. Customer may ask to confirm what personal information the Program holds, receive a copy of the data Customer provided, correct inaccurate information, delete it, and opt out of targeted advertising. (The Program sells no personal data and does no profiling with legal effects, so those opt-outs have nothing to act on.) Customer will not face discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
How to make a request. Email privacy@deako.com. Deako administers requests for Hi Power and honors them where reasonably practicable and as applicable law requires, subject to exceptions such as records that must be kept for warranty, permit, tax, or legal purposes. To protect Customer's information, verification of identity may be requested, typically name, email, and booking information. Responses come within forty-five days; where a request is complex, that period may be extended once by forty-five days with notice. No fee is charged unless a request is excessive, repetitive, or clearly unfounded.
Authorized agents. Someone Customer authorizes may submit an opt-out request on Customer's behalf by emailing privacy@deako.com with proof of that authority. For access, correction, or deletion requests made through an agent, Customer may be asked to confirm the request directly.
Appeals. If a request is denied in whole or in part, the response explains why. Customer may appeal within forty-five days by replying to that response or emailing privacy@deako.com with "Appeal" in the subject line. A written decision follows within forty-five days. If the appeal is denied, Customer may contact the Colorado Attorney General's office at coag.gov.
Other choices. Targeted advertising: use the tools in Section 4 or email privacy@deako.com. Marketing texts: reply STOP. Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link. California residents may request information about disclosures for direct marketing purposes under Cal. Civ. Code Section 1798.83 through the contact below.
13. Notice of financial incentive
The Program may offer benefits tied to personal information that qualify as a financial incentive under applicable law, for example a discount in exchange for an email address. The terms are presented at the time of the offer, and Customer can end participation at any time through Section 12.
14. Changes to this Policy
Deako maintains this Policy as program administrator. No revision takes effect until Hi Power has accepted it. Changes are posted at hipowerhomeservices.com/privacy with an updated date, and material changes are also flagged at the top of the Policy for thirty days after posting.
15. Privacy questions
Email privacy@deako.com (administered by Deako on Hi Power's behalf), or write to Deako, Inc., 4201 Roosevelt Way NE, Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98105, Attn: Privacy.
